The New York Giants re-signed linebacker Keith Rivers on Friday.
Rivers has never played a full NFL season and missed five games last season due to a hamstring injury. He sat out the entire 2011 campaign because of wrist surgery.
"Any time you step on the field you have something to prove -- me, more so," Rivers said. "Obviously, I have to prove I can stay healthy. I haven't necessarily been able to be trusted to stay healthy. Hopefully, taking a big rest this offseason will help me do that."
The Giants acquired Rivers from the Cincinnati Bengals following the 2011 season. The USC product tallied 44 tackles in his first year with New York.
