The Arizona Cardinals signed defensive end Matt Shaughnessy to a one-year contract on Thursday.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Shaughnessy, 26, started all 16 games last season for Oakland, posting 42 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.

The Wisconsin product spent four seasons with the Raiders, who selected him in the third round in the 2009 NFL Draft, and recorded 134 sacks, 15 1/2 sacks and two forced fumbles in 51 games, including 29 starts.

Shaughnessy is the seventh free agent to sign with the Cardinals this week, joining quarterback Drew Stanton, running back Rashard Mendenhall, cornerback Jerraud Powers, safety Yeremiah Bell, and linebackers Lorenzo Alexander and Jasper Brinkley.
