Free agent wide receiver Donte' Stallworth and his girlfriend reportedly suffered burns when a hot-air balloon they were riding in crashed into power lines in Homestead, Fla.

The Miami Herald reports Stallworth took his girlfriend, Soleil Guerrero, on the balloon for her recent birthday. The balloon, according to the newspaper, struck the power lines as they were landing.

Stallworth, who played a game last season for the New England Patriots, and his girlfriend were rushed to Kendall Regional Medical Center. Also according to the newspaper, Guerrero's burns were considering much more severe than Stallworth. The Herald said the balloon operator was not hurt.

The 32-year-old Stallworth missed most of last season due to an ankle injury.

Four years ago, he pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter in a case where Stallworth crashed into and killed a pedestrian in South Florida. He spent 24 days in jail.
