Friends of NRA banquet set for Saturday

The Mount Rainier Committee of the Friends of NRA will hold its 20th annual banquet and auction fundraiser Saturday. There will be raffles and games throughout the evening, as well as an auction.

The Mount Rainier Committee of the Friends of NRA will hold its 20th annual banquet and auction fundraiser Saturday. There will be raffles and games throughout the evening, as well as an auction.

The doors open at 4 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. and a live auction to follow. The event will be at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center.

Proceeds from the event are used to support firearms safety training, hunter education and the shooting sports.

In February, the committee awarded $249,000 in grants to Evergreen Surefire hunter education program, junior shooting teams, Boy Scouts, VFW chapters, 4H clubs, FFA clubs, Franklin Pierce High School AFROTC, Wilson High School JROTC rifle team and American Legions.
