The Wilson High School Scintillation Show Choir is hosting its annual fundraiser dinner and auction at 5 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature a performance by the choir, silent and live auctions and an Italian dinner.

The Wilson High School Scintillation Show Choir is hosting its annual fundraiser dinner and auction at 5 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature a performance by the choir, silent and live auctions and an Italian dinner.

The event will be at the Charles Wright Academy Dome, 7723 Chambers Creek Road, University Place. Tickets are $20, and guests must be at least 21 to attend. For information, call Samantha Logar at 253-223-9721 or Wendy Shepherd at 253-571-6156.

    Mezzo-soprano Alicia Miles Olatuja, 30, sang a solo with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir as it belted out The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

    Olatuja was born in the Tri-Cities but moved from the area when she was 6 years old with her mother, former Pasco School District teacher Valencia Miles Wallace. Her father James Miles still lives in the Tri-Cities.
