Nearly one year ago, 35-year-old Trina Bibbey died at her Marsing-area home after being pinned under a car.

On Monday, police arrested her husband, Rodney Wayne Bibbey, 37, and charged him with first-degree murder.

When investigators went to Bibbey’s home April 4 and found Trina Bibbey pinned under a Mercury Grand Marquis, they said it appeared to be a case of accidental death.

Bibbey’s husband, who was home at the time of his wife's death, told police that while his wife was changing the oil, the car slipped on the jack and fell on her, according to investigators.

When emergency crews arrived, Bibbey was trapped under the car and eventually declared dead at the scene.

Last month, police asked the public for information in the case, saying that although Bibbey's death initially looked like an accident, evidence collected during the investigation indicated she might be the victim of a homicide.

An Owyhee County grand jury indicted Bibbey for first-degree murder. Idaho State Police and Owyhee County Sheriff's Office arrested Bibbey Monday morning and booked him into the Owyhee County Jail.

Trina Bibbey moved to Idaho from San Jose in 1999. She and Rod Bibbey married in 2005 and have seven children between them. Bibbey worked as a cosmetologist in the Treasure Valley, according to her obituary.
