The Boise City Council unanimously approved Mayor David Bieter's appointment Tuesday to the Capital City Development Corporation's board of commissioners.
Bieter, who appoints all new members of the urban renewal agency's board, nominated himself for the last remaining open seat to ensure "that broader goals were understood by the board as they continue their important work," mayor's spokesman Adam Park said.
That work includes a push to continue positive economic momentum in the city and develop the agency's newest renewal district, the 30th Street district.
The Capital City Development Corporation receives tax money from four Boise districts and designates it for improvement projects in those districts.
Bieter joins Council members David Eberle and Lauren McLean as elected members of city government who are voting members of the urban renewal agency's board.
