A semi-truck driver from Prosser was injured when a car crashed into the back of his truck as it was parked in a chain-up area on Interstate 90, the Washington State Patrol said.

David Joe Metreveli, 52, was outside of the truck when the car crashed into it, WSP said. Metreveli was able to avoid getting hit by the car, but he injured himself as he moved out of its way, WSP reported.

WSP said the car, driven by Eustacio Meza, 45, lost control and veered off the roadway, eventually striking the truck.

Meza and his four passengers were not injured in the crash, WSP said.

Metreveli was taken to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital.
