Brad Nelson hit a two-run home run to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 7-4 win over the Seattle Mariners in spring training action.

Jeff Samardzija hit a solo home run and drove in two in addition to throwing six innings and giving up four runs -- three earned -- on nine hits with seven strikeouts for the Cubs, who also got a solo home run from Alfonso Soriano.

Justin Smoak hit a two-run home run while Jason Bay had three hits for the Mariners, who got six innings of two-run, five-hit work from starter Jon Garland.
