A drug suspect used his vehicle to ram an undercover Centralia police officer’s car during a bust in the 7000 block of 14th Avenue in Olympia Wednesday after two men allegedly sold an undercover informant about 1,000 oxycodone pills in exchange for $3,000, court papers state.
The two suspects in the car were arrested during the incident. Ayalneh Anebo, 27, and Veasna Uon, 33, were each arrested on suspicion of unlawful delivery and unlawful possession of oxycodone. The driver, Anebo, was additionally arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault for allegedly ramming the undercover officer’s car. Anebo and Uon were both in custody at the Thurston County Jail on Thursday. Anebo’s bail was set at $30,000, and Uon’s was $10,000.
According to court papers, the Centralia officers had permission to conduct the controlled buy of oxycodone pills under its mutual-aid agreement with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
After the undercover informant completed the controlled buy, several Centralia police units moved in to arrest the two suspects. Anebo, who was behind the wheel, tried to flee, ramming an undercover van belonging to the Centralia Police Department, while a Centralia police sergeant was driving it.
Centralia Police Sgt. Stacy Denham said the undercover van sustained about $1,000 worth of damage, and that the sergeant driving it was fine.
During a search of Anebo after his arrest, officers found additional oxycodone pills and an additional $2,000 cash.
Denham said Thursday that the narcotics investigation continues.
