A Fife man suspected of abusing his 4-month-old son was ordered held in jail Tuesday while police await medical test results on the child, who was found unresponsive Monday morning.
Deputy prosecutor Jared Ausserer said Jeremy Yerger could face charges Thursday. Yerger was arrested Monday morning after being questioned by detectives at the police station. Tacoma firefighters responded to Yergers house in the 6200 block of Park Street to treat the unresponsive boy. Police said Yergers story about what happened to his son was inconsistent.
Details of the infants condition and alleged abuse were being withheld while the investigation continued. The boys mother is said to be cooperating with police.
