Town Councilman Gordon Bowman is one of three candidates so far who have filed to run for mayor of Eatonville, according to the Pierce County elections website.
In addition to Bowman, Carl (Bud) Lucas and Mike Schaub have filed to run.
Filing week ends Friday, May 17. Candidates can file or online or in-person with the Pierce County Auditors Office. The primary election is Aug. 6. The general election is Nov. 5.
Incumbent Mayor Ray Harper has yet to file to run for re-election.
Eatonville, a town with a population of about 2,700, has experienced budget problems in recent years. The town has been running a deficit, following declines in revenue after the recession and expansion of the towns Fire Department a few years ago.
