Fife police officers and Tacoma firefighters responded Friday to an apparent suicide in the 2500 block of 62nd Avenue East.
A 911 caller shortly before 10 a.m. reported a suspicious vehicle in the area, with an unconscious man inside and a note taped to the window that said: “Do not open. Hydrogen Sulfide. Call 911.”
Emergency crews closed 62nd Avenue East to through traffic and entered the vehicle. They found the man was dead, police said.
The potential area of exposure was minimal, officers said.
