Two men and a woman were arrested Sunday on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, an incident that included a resident who tackled one of the suspects, according to the Thurston County’s Sheriff’s Office.

According to Lt. Gordon Phillips: About 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a report of a stolen 2003 Honda Accord in the Mullen Road-Meridian Road area of Thurston County. A deputy headed toward the scene to file a report, but on the way there the suspects passed him in the stolen car.

The deputy then pursued the vehicle to a driveway, where the three suspects ran away. The deputy chased a suspect while the female suspect was tackled and detained by a nearby resident. The Sheriff’s Office, Lacey Police Department and an Olympia Police Department K-9 unit eventually set up a perimeter to track down the two male suspects. All were in custody by 2:20 p.m. Sunday.

Phillips said one of the men was from University Place, while the other man and the woman were from Thurston County.
