Bonney Lake police were searching Thursday for a middle-age man suspected of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into his van.
The incident happened about 6:35 a.m. Thursday in the 11000 block of Angeline Road.
The girl told officers she was walking to her bus stop when she noticed a van driving slowly behind her. The van passed her and turned around twice.
As she grew fearful, the girl began walking to her friend’s house. As she reached the corner of Angeline Road and 110th Street Court East, the van pulled up next to her and the driver told her, “I’m going to get you.”
The girl ran and hid behind a tree until she saw her friend’s mother passing by and flagged her down for help.
Police said the man was white, in his early 40s or 50s with light-colored eyes and light facial hair. He was heavy set, had a pale face and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The van was deep red with tinted windows.
