Summer school starts July 15 in the Clover Park School District, with nearly 700 elementary and middle school students.
Elementary and middle school sessions continue through Aug. 7 at six elementary schools and two middle schools.
With limited funding, the district is targeting students who will enter grades three, four, five and six in September. They will be selected to attend summer school based on performance on math and reading tests.
Clover Park also will offer a high school credit-retrieval summer program, which will start July 1 and run through Aug. 7 at Clover Park High School. Cost per credit retrieval course is $175, with a maximum of two courses per student.
Clover Park and Lakes high schools also are hosting Warrior and Lancer Academies for incoming ninth-graders. Those students receive reading, writing, math and science instruction, along with skills to help them prepare for high school academics.
Clover Park High’s Warrior Academy will be held July 8Aug. 9. Lakes’ Lancer Academy will run Aug. 19-22.
