A man in his 40s was arrested Thursday night at a Puyallup apartment complex after authorities uncovered "a large cache" of fireworks.
Officers from Puyallup Tribal police and Puyallup Police Department converged on the apartment complex in the 1600 block of East Main Street after tribal police received a tip.
Residents at the scene were evacuated while the search took place, KOMO.com reported.
Police arrested the suspect without incident and located a large amount of legal and illegal fireworks in garage units on the premises.
Due to the size of the cache and the type of fireworks, the Pierce County sheriffs department Hazardous Devices Squad and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms were brought in to assist with the identification and disposal of the fireworks.
The suspect is expected to be booked into the Pierce County Jail on several charges relating to the alleged possession and distribution of illegal and dangerous fireworks.
