A 41-year-old Yelm man and a 33-year-old woman from Chehalis were injured Saturday night in Jefferson County after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a car that had turned in front of them.
According to the Washington State Patrol:
About 8 p.m. Saturday, Christopher S. Loper, 41, of Yelm and Shalina R. McDonald, 33, of Chehalis were riding their motorcycle southbound on U.S. Hwy. 101 in Jefferson County. A car, parked on the southbound shoulder, then pulled into the road to make a U-turn and the motorcycle crashed into it.
Loper and McDonald, both of whom were wearing their helmets, later were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Bjornn R. Kimball, 39, of Quilcene -- the driver of the car -- was not injured.
