A Pierce County jury convicted a Tukwila woman of using her Chevrolet Tahoe to run down her friend on a Tacoma street 18 months ago.
Jurors found Denise Larkins, 35, guilty of second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the Dec. 16, 2011, death of Michelle Johnson. They returned their verdict Thursday after a trial that spanned two weeks.
Larkins is to be sentenced July 19.
Deputy prosecutors Phil Sorensen and Robert Yu argued during trial that Larkins ran down Johnson, 45, on purpose after an argument.
Defense attorney Mary K. High told jurors that Larkins suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and was in the throes of an anxiety attack when she hit her friend and did not intentionally kill email@example.com
