Pierce County ferry riders in large vehicles should plan ahead to avoid delays for low tides from Tuesday through July 11.
Load restrictions will be in place on some ferry runs. Riders might be asked to wait until a later sailing.
The restrictions affect large vehicles such as RVs, commercial trucks and vehicles towing trailers, according to the Pierce County Ferry System, which provides service among the Town of Steilacoom, Anderson Island and Ketron Island.
Ticket agents and ferry crews will be checking large vehicles and those towing trailers for sailings affected by low tides.
For information on which ferry runs might be least affected, call Capt. Paul Crow, marine superintendent, at 253-588-5290. Potential daily time frames for restrictions are available at www.piercecoutywa.org/ferry.steve.maynard@ thenewstribune.com
