The ramp from southbound Interstate 5 to westbound state Route 16 and South 38th Street in Tacoma will close Wednesday night for striping work.
Crews will close the ramp at 11 p.m. and reopen it at 5 a.m. Thursday, the state Department of Transportation reported.
Other work on eastbound state Route 16 will require closures near South Union Avenue throughout the week. Crews will close the highway intermittently overnight to install girders for new bridges that are part of the improved Nalley Valley viaduct.
They’ll reopen that stretch of the highway by 4 a.m. each day.
South Center Street also will be closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. for more viaduct work.
