A man escaped after leading Thurston County sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit on U.S. Highway 12 early Saturday.
A sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the driver for driving 44 mph in a 30 mph zone around 12:32 a.m., but the driver drove away said Sgt. Kevin Slease.
The chase ended in Grays Harbor County off Cemetery Road near Oakville, Slease said.
“The driver bailed out of the car and ran away while the passenger stayed behind,” Slease said.
Deputies set up a perimeter and tried to find the driver using a Tumwater Police Department search dog, but were unable to find the man.
“There was not enough information to charge a crime,” Slease said. “No one was hurt, and there was no damage.”email@example.com
