A former Kent family law attorney who ran a business involving youth baseball faces at least 15 years in prison after pleading guilty Monday to child pornography charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
David Engle, 49, of Maple Valley, is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 21 after pleading guilty to charges of production of child pornography, receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
He has been in jail since his arrest in November.
Authorities began investigating Engle after learning he bought 184 items from an international movie production company that is being prosecuted for child exploitation. He made the purchases from 2005 to 2011.
After serving a search warrant at Engle’s home and storage locker, investigators found more than 500 videos of Engle molesting a young boy. They later discovered evidence he molested a second boy, prosecutors said.
The allegations are being handled by the King County Prosecutor’s Office.
