Partygoers at a Spanaway home beat a suspected drunken driver unconscious after his vehicle crashed into the house where the party was taking place, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday when the driver went through a wooden fence and hit the front porch of a home in the 15100 block of 2nd Avenue East, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said Monday.
Several of the partygoers “took offense to the possibly intoxicated driver crashing and opted to assault the driver repeatedly,” Troyer said.
Deputies arrived to find the 61-year-old driver unconscious outside his vehicle. Some of the partygoers refused to back up and allegedly charged the deputies, who used a can of pepper spray to gain control of the situation, Troyer said.
Two men were arrested. The driver was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.email@example.com
