OKANOGAN: 3 small wildfires burn across Washington

July 16, 2013

Fire crews are working to contain a wildfire that is being pushed by gusty winds in north-central Washington.

Meanwhile, a small wildfire in south-central Washington was blamed for burning a home Monday near the town of Lyle. Klickitat County Fire District No. 4 spokesman Justin Ramsey told KATU-TV that the fire is burning on more than 20 acres. Fire crews from all over Klickitat County were responding, along with the state Department of Natural Resources.

In north-central Washington, the B & O Fire had burned across more than 3 square miles, or about 2,000 acres, between Okanogan and Malott, south of Omak.

Some roads were closed.
