Three sought for stealing digital cameras from Spanaway store

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help in identifying three men who stole 11 digital cameras from a Spanaway Walmart earlier this month.

The men entered the store on Mountain Highway East shortly after midnight July 2 and tried to remove laptops from a locked case. When they couldn’t do so, they put 11digital cameras in their cart and pushed it out of the store.

Surveillance cameras caught them fleeing in a newer maroon Chevrolet Tahoe with custom chrome rims.

The stolen cameras are worth about $2,500. They include:

-- 3 Nikon L280 digital cameras

-- 2 Fuji S4830 digital cameras

-- 2 Olympus 820UZ digital cameras

-- 2 Fuji S8200 digital cameras

-- 2 Sony DSCH200 digital cameras

The thieves are white, in their 20s with medium builds and about 5-feet 6 to 5-feet 11.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charging of the three suspects. Anonymous tipsters may call253-591-5959.
