BUTTE, MONT. — A Lacey man in a recorded telephone call from jail to his father rambles repeatedly about having killed his 3-year-old son, Montana authorities say in court documents.
Charging documents released Friday and obtained by the Montana Standard contain a transcript of the call authorities say 38-year-old Jeremy Brent Cramer made to his father early July 9 from the Deer Lodge County Jail.
“I killed my own kid and I don’t know why,” Jeremy Cramer says in the transcript.
The body of Broderick Daniel Cramer of Lacey was found July 9 in southwestern Montana, about 5 miles southeast of Anaconda.
Jeremy Cramer is charged with deliberate homicide and is jailed on $250,000 bond.
Jeremy Cramer’s father, Jerry Cramer, early in the conversation tries to find out where the toddler is and if he’s all right. Jeremy Cramer gives a rambling and confused retelling of events, and his father continues suggesting the 3-year-old might be alive.
“My son is dead, 100 percent dead, yes I did it, something did it of me but I didn’t do it,” Jeremy Cramer says, according to the transcript.
Jeremy Cramer tells his father at one point, “I still got my son’s blood on me.”The Associated Press
