An apartment fire Tuesday afternoon caused $6,500 in damages, the Tacoma Fire Department reported this morning.
Investigators said the blaze at 5416 South M Street was caused by combustibles left on the stove.
Crews arrived at the apartment complex shortly after 2 p.m. to find smoke coming from the second floor of the 12,672-foot building. One woman and three cats were dislocated by the fire.
No serious injuries were reported.
