The Fort Nisqually Foundation will host its annual Friday At The Fort fundraising party this week from 6-9 p.m.
“It’s our annual fundraiser and the one time of year when we hang up our period clothes and hold a party 21st-century style,” said event coordinator Chris Fiala Erlich of the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum.
All proceeds support education programs at the fort.
The 21-and-over event will feature food and drink for purchase from local suppliers including 7 Seas Brewing, Pampeana and Miss Monica’s Bayou Oasis. Entertainment will be provided by The Shy Boys.
Tickets are $8 in advance at the fort or at fridayatthefort.org. Tickets at the gate will be $10.
Carpooling is encouraged because of limited parking near the fort, Erlich said. Seating for the concert will be on the lawn, so attendees should bring a blanket or folding chair.
Located in Point Defiance Park, the museum is a restoration of the Hudson’s Bay Co. outpost originally near DuPont.peter.callaghan@ thenewstribune.com
