Woman shot in Spanaway home, deputies looking for suspects

KIRO-TVJuly 28, 2013

A Spanaway woman was shot in a home Saturday, and Pierce County deputies were looking for at least three people involved.

The shooting happened about 7 a.m. just north of Spanaway Lake. Deputies said two women and one or two men wearing masks entered the house and got into a fight in which a man shot a 47-year-old woman renting a room at the house.

“She’s going to survive,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. “Bullet went through her. She’s in the hospital with our detectives.”

Neighbors said the house sees daily traffic, activity that caught the eye of detectives.

“One of our narcotics guys was aware of it and … was in the process of taking a look at this place and documenting what was happening,” Troyer said.

Deputies said the shooting wasn’t random.
