On a visit Monday to Paradise at Mount Rainier National Park, there was an obvious scent of fire in the air.
Talking with one of the rangers at the information desk, he said it was coming from wildfires in Eastern Washington.
Conditions were worse at Sunrise, he said. Smoke being blown in filled the air and obscured the view of 14,411-foot Mount Rainier.
Looking at webcams Tuesday, conditions at Sunrise still seem rather smoky.
