Veterans, military families and transitioning service members take note:
Workforce Central and the Tacoma Rainiers will host a free job fair Aug. 28 at Cheney Stadium beginning at 9 a.m. and running until 3 p.m.
Approximately 50 employers — all with open positions — will be present seeking applicants. According to Elizabeth Iaukea, trend research specialist at WorkForce Central, a few of the employers include Walmart, Starbucks, Boeing, city of Tacoma, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Franciscan Health System, General Plastics, MultiCare, ResCare HomeCare, Swift Transportation and TMX Aerospace, along with other South Sound businesses large and small.
The first 150 people to register for the event will be assured of two free tickets to a Rainiers game later that day. The team also plans to host a tailgate party after the job fair, Iaukea said.
Job seekers will have a chance to speak with potential employers and can also attend workshops at the event.
