Man in flowered dress robs Tacoma bank

The man wore a flowered dress when he robbed a Tacoma bank Wednesday afternoon.

Police released a surveillance photo this morning, hoping somebody might recognize him.

The holdup happened about 4 p.m. Wednesday. The man walked into a Key Bank branch in the 1400 block of East 72nd Street and handed a teller a note demanding cash. He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured.

The robber is a white man in his 40s, 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a light brown wig, tan makeup, large sunglasses, a white long-sleeved shirt and a long dark blue sleeveless flowered dress.

Anyone with tips is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959. Tipsters with information leading to an arrest and charging are eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
