Four families displaced after Kent apartment fire

Staff writerAugust 8, 2013

Four families were displaced early this morning after a second-alarm fire severely damaged the apartment building they lived in, according to the Kent Fire Department.

Crews were called about 2:30 a.m. to the 22400 block of Benson Highway on the city’s Easthill and found smoke and flames from the complex.

Since the residents had already evacuated, firefighters attacked the flames. Units from Auburn and Renton were called to assist due to the size and intensity of the fire.

The blaze was put out about 4 a.m. A cause has not been determined.
