The Bonney Lake Police Department will hold a procession on Monday morning in memory of former Officer Brian Kelly, who died of cancer on Aug. 9.
Kelly served the department from 2008 until 2012, according to a department news release. He most recently worked as a pilot for Alaska Airlines, and was an active lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves.
He is survived by his wife and three young children.
The funeral procession will begin at 7:50 a.m. on Monday and will travel through Bonney Lake, Buckley, Enumclaw, Black Diamond and Maple Valley. It will begin at the Main Street entrance of the Bonney Lake Police Department and travel eastbound on Veterans Memorial Drive, ending at Tahoma National Cemetery near Maple Valley, according to the release.
A second procession will return to Bonney Lake at Kelley Creek Farms, traveling on state Routes 18, 167 and 410 around 10:30 a.m.
“We apologize in advance for any traffic delays caused by the procession and will do our best to limit any impact on the morning commuters,” the release says.
Those interested in attending are invited to gather in front of the Public Safety Building at 18421 Veterans Memorial Drive in Bonney Lake starting at 7:30 a.m.
