A Buckley man was seriously injured early Saturday when the 2003 Volkswagen Jetta he was driving rolled into the ditch of state Route 165 near Buckley, the State Patrol said.

The 26-year-old driver was the only occupant of the car that left the roadway about 1:45 a.m. heading north at a high rate of speed in the 12100 block of the highway, troopers said.

He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was in serious condition Saturday night.

The man had not been wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol.

What caused the crash was still being investigated.
