Bicyclist critically injured by suspected drunken driver in Federal Way

A bicyclist was critically injured Friday morning in Federal Way after being struck by a suspected drunken driver, police said.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The accident happened about 10:50 a.m. in the 28600 block of Military Road South. Officers closed the road to investigate the collision. The road is not expected to reopen until 4 p.m., police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
