INITIAL POST: Peninsula Light Co. believes a power outage affecting 24,000 residences in the Key Peninsula and Gig Harbor areas Thursday night may have been caused by lightning hitting a transmission line, spokesman Jonathan White said.
The outage started just after 6 p.m., and shortly after 7 p.m. White said power should be restored within about an hour.
Of the company's eight substations, only one was working, White said.
The station was in the Artondale area.
