Landscaper accused of bilking the elderly pleads not guilty

Staff writerSeptember 6, 2013

A 34-year-old man pleaded not guilty Friday to charges he took money from elderly Pierce County women for yard work he never performed.

Dayton Dixon is charged in Pierce County Superior Court with nine counts of theft.

Prosecutors contend Dixon, who operates a landscaping business, took more than $50,000 from an 86-year-old Tacoma woman from 2011 to 2012 and at least $17,000 from a 73-year-old Puyallup woman for work he never performed.

He paid back some money to the Puyallup resident when she called police to report him, court records show.
