Key Pen Parks, Key Peninsula Community Services and Peninsula Fall Prevention Coalition are hosting an intergenerational play day at Volunteer Park Sept. 23.
The goal is to learn the benefits of play, and instill in the attendees the importance of preventing falls, said Jess Smeall, recreation coordinator for the parks district.
“The message of safe and fun physical activity is so important,” Smeall said in a news release. “Our vision is to have people of all ages and abilities to join together in a spirit of fun, and tackle an important subject through movement and conversation.”
The free event will run from 10 a.m.-noon at the park, 5514 Key Peninsula Highway, Lakebay. Attendees should meet at the picnic shelter. There will be free prize bags for the first 40 attendees.
