To help children with life-threatening conditions, Grays Harbor Tourism is working with Horns & Hooks Outdoor Magazine to hold a second annual fishing derby in Grays Harbor Bay. The derby is set for Sept. 20-22.
Families are encouraged to wet a line for a chance to win cash and prizes on all three days of the event. Proceeds will go directly to benefit Youth Outdoors Unlimited, Inc. (Y.O.U.) a registered nonprofit organization.
The Sept. 21 focus will be on Y.O.U. kids, as they are taken out fishing in the bay with volunteer guides to experience the outdoors that Grays Harbor offers.
Derby tickets are priced at $10 per day and $20 for the three-day weekend and are available in advance at Horns & Hooks retail outlet on Brumfield Avenue in Montesano, all Dennis Co. locations and Harbor Saw and Supply in Hoquiam. On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased at the Westport Marina or the Johns River and 28th Street boat launch locations.
