Mop-up work from last week's flooding is largely finished at Ferrucci Junior High School in Puyallup.
But the school will remain closed one more day on Tuesday, while crews continue working to ensure good air quality before students and staff return, district officials said Monday.
School is scheduled to resume for Ferrucci kids on Wednesday, either at Ferrucci or, if work remains, at another location in the school district. That alternate location has not yet been determined, district spokesman Brian Fox said Monday.
Ferrucci classrooms are clean and dry, the district said. But the district wants to ensure clean air in the building as well, so it has contracted with specialists to accomplish that goal. All indoor air will be filtered and ushered out of the building using industrial quality fans and ventilation systems.
