Marecic, a three-year veteran, played in 24 games (six starts) for the Cleveland Browns. He has four carries for eight yards and five receptions 31 yards.

The 49ers also placed nose tackle Ian Williams on the injured reserve to make room for Marecic. Williams broke his ankle on a cut block by right guard J.R Sweezy of the Seahawks in Week 2.
