Federal Way residents can help families in need by donating food this month as part of the Mayor's Day of Concern for the Hungry.
The food will be distributed through the Multi-Service Center’s Federal Way Food Bank and the Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle-King County.
Volunteers will accept donations Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at:
• Safeways at 2109 SW. 336th St., 28810 Military Rd. S. and 1207 S. 320th St.
• Walmarts at 1900 S. 314th St. and 35420 16th Ave.
A donation barrel will be also available for customers to drop off items from Sept. 20 to 26 at Albertson’s at 31009 Pacific Highway S.
Last year, the event gathered 9,773 pounds of food.
