Milton police chief announces retirement

Staff writerSeptember 20, 2013

Milton Police Chief Bill Rhoads will retire at the end of this year.

Rhoads announced his plans to retire earlier this week, according to a report first published in the Fife Free Press.

He was hired in 2007 to lead the Milton Police Department, which was without an official chief for three years during an investigation of former chief Steve McKeen and a subsequent unlawful termination lawsuit against the city.

Rhoads plans to remain active in the community.
