Tacoma police investigating possible homicide in North End

Staff writerSeptember 23, 2013

Tacoma police are investigating the death of a 44-year-old man early Monday morning and have arrested the victim's friend who was present at the time.

The friend called 911 about 1 a.m. to report the death, which happened inside the victim’s home in the 2600 block of North 30th Street.

“Detectives are investigating the death as a possible homicide,” police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

She declined to discuss specifics of the case, citing the ongoing investigation. Cool said detectives are waiting for the Pierce County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

The friend was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
