Man hurt after being pinned between vehicles in Lake Tapps area

Staff writerSeptember 23, 2013

A man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local trauma center when he was pinned between two vehicles in the Lake Tapps area Friday, firefighters said.

The man’s sport utility vehicle broke down in the 20020 block of 12th Street East, and as he and a friend tried to load it onto a flat-bed trailer, it rolled and pinned the man, East Pierce Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Pat Beers said.

The friend had already released the man by moving one of the vehicles when firefighters arrived about 9 a.m., according to East Pierce.

Further details about the man’s condition were not immediately available.
