Federal employees get free admission to Point Defiance Zoo, Northwest Trek during government shutdown

Staff writerOctober 3, 2013

All federal employees can visit Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park free during the government shutdown.

Immediate family members may receive half-off general admission.

The program, dubbed “Free Federal Fun Days,” is “designed to honor federal employees during a difficult time,” according to a zoo news release.

Federal employees must show military or federal employee identification to qualify.
