Thousands of children read more than 90,000 hours of books, magazines and other materials as part of Pierce County Library System’s summer reading program. Children reading 15 hours or more were entered to win an iPad mini; the winners were Maggie Gilmore of Auburn, Morgan Pratt of Lakebay and Hannah Smith of Puyallup.
Nearly 600 teens participated in the Teen Summer Challenge this summer earning badges, reading down book fines and sharing book, movie and music reviews.
