Puyallup River Bridge to temporarily close this weekend

Staff writerOctober 9, 2013

The Puyallup River Bridge on state Route 167 will be temporarily closed this weekend while crews inspect the safety of the structure, according to the state Department of Transportation.

It is a regularly scheduled inspection where a truck with a specialized arm reached around the bridge railing and below the deck.

Both directions of the bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday. Traffic will be routed over the parallel southbound bridge, WSDOT reports.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the closure times.
